The life a freelance writer is one of unremitting drudgery. Apart from the times when one is taken on trips to Florence to meet with artisanal fashion and accessory producers from the sun-baked province of Tuscany. Luckily the generosity of my hosts ran to putting me up in the Grand Hotel Villa Cora in Florence. I made the best of it.
