Writing to Santa, Christmas 1960
Here’s my earliest engagement with the press: an appearance in the Yorkshire Evening Post 55 years ago. A YEP photographer was a neighbour and I got the job of modelling this classic scene. Note the sophisticated snowman and the very ancient “bristle” Christmas tree. The Lenny the Lion book I am resting on was a favourite of mine. Typo alert: By December 1960 I was five years old, not four as stated in the caption.
