I think not. The latest very welcome additions to my scarf collection come from Begg Scotland, expert maker to many of the best-known designer brands of the UK, Europe and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>I first visited the neat factory in Ayr more than a year ago, courtesy of Duchamp, which has its scarves made there. With Gavin Elder as the director, we made a very enjoyable film at the mill.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/index.php\/archive\/tv\/eric-musgrave-for-duchamp-tv-at-begg-scotland-ayr\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/index.php\/archive\/tv\/eric-musgrave-for-duchamp-tv-at-begg-scotland-ayr\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The exciting news for 2013 is that Begg Scotland is promoting its own label, rather than just doing a splendid job for other brands.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-A.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3039\" title=\"Begg Scotland 75 lambswool 25 angora\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-A-218x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"218\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-A-218x300.jpg 218w, https:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-A-255x350.jpg 255w, https:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-A-420x578.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-A.jpg 724w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 218px) 100vw, 218px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This winter staple and favourite of mine (see my previous blog) is in a blend of 75% lambswool and 25% angora. And. yes, it does feel as good as it sounds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-B.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3040\" title=\"Begg Scotland 65 cashmere 35 silk\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-B-195x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"195\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-B-195x300.jpg 195w, https:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-B-666x1024.jpg 666w, https:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-B-255x392.jpg 255w, https:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-B-420x646.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-B.jpg 773w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 195px) 100vw, 195px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From the autumn\/winter 2013 collection, this is a design by Angela Queen of cashmere knitwear specialist Queene &amp; Belle, who was inspired by the weaving of the Nagas people of north-east India for this reworked plaid design. It is in a stupendous blend of 65% cashmere and 35% silk.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-C.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3041\" title=\"Begg Scotland 100 cashmere\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ericmusgrave.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Begg-Scotland-C-207x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"207\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All Begg&#8217;s scarves are fantastic examples of the weaver&#8217;s art, but this 100% cashmere scarf for a\/w 13 is astonishing. Thanks to a precise selection of specially dyed yarns, the 2-metre long scarf (which 320cms wide) displays a range of shades that starts at pale blue at one end and finishes with an olive green at the other. My carefully considered reaction is &#8220;WOW!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With these three scarves in my wardrobe, I am hoping for a long, hard winter.<\/p>\n<p>The Begg\u00a0Scotland\u00a0website is\u00a0being\u00a0rebuilt, but you can see some of the lovely, talented and passionate people who work at the mill on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.beggscotland.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.beggscotland.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Can a man have too many accessories?
