Melvyn Marckus, City Editor of The Observer, commissioned me to write this piece on bespoke tailoring. He was the son of a tailor and his proprietor, Tiny Rowland, owned the celebrated Savile Row firm Anderson & Sheppard, which flourishes today under Tiny’s daughter Anda Rowland.
