On the Isle of Lewis

On my week-long trip to Scotland I was lucky enough to spend the day on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides to see some aspects of the production of that classic Scottish cloth, Harris Tweed. The weather was glorious, the welcomes were very generous and I had a great time. The wind ensures that there are very few trees on the islands but even the strongest gale cannot move the standing stones of Callanish, which were erected between between 2900 and 2600 BC. The cover of The Tailor and Cutter here dates from 28 October 1960. Thanks to Gerardo Jaconelli for taking my photos.
