A bravado line-up of Baracuta G9 jackets was gathered at the Village East bar in Shoreditch last night to celebrate the new SS13 collection from the excellent British brand and the publication of the 6th edition of the men’s style mag Jocks&Nerds. The Fraser tartan used for the G9’s lining was much in evidence. The zipped casual jacket first appeared in 1937 and remains a style classic.
Seen here with Keith Brown, menswear agent for Viyella 1784, and Simon Parr, who used to be the chief UK salesman for Baracuta, I sported my G9 in the rare forest green colourway, plus a Made-in-Britain trilby by Failsworth, 84% cotton 16% silk button-down shirt by Viyella and knitted silk tie from Hilditch & Key.
Our genial co-host for the evening was Marcus Agerman Ross, the founder of the quarterly Jocks&Nerds, seen here with his wife Johanna. Marcus has done a great job with the mag, which is distributed for free through some great men’s fashion stores and can be purchased by those who are unlucky enough not to live near a stockist. Marcus also acted as creative director on the promotional film for Baracuta that can be seen in the background and can be enjoyed here.
