Aigle’s ace anti-fatigue wellies
Given the weather we have “enjoyed” since the autumn, I am delighted to have added these Aigle Parcours 2 boots to my wardrobe.
The French company, which has been making rubber footwear since 1853, describes this model as its first “anti-fatigue boot”.
It certainly is comfortable thanks to its excellent fit across the foot – where so many wellies are loose – and to the support that is built into the boots, which are still made in Aigle’s factory at Châtellerault, near Poitou in western France.
The outer sole is definitely impressive but what you can’t see from the outside is the “triple-density rubber anti-fatigue sole” – which is nicely described in Aigle’s information leaflet.
The Parcours 2 retail at about £110 and are available in various colours with various linings. The red lining of the pair on the right (which are rated by my wife Jane as the best wellies she has ever worn) is neoprene for extra warmth. The pale orange lining of my pair on the left is knitted polyester. I almost don’t want it to stop raining.
